The Lac La Biche Men's Curling Spiel is set to take place on Jan. 18 at the Bold Center.

The program, which has been running since 2014, provides curbside pickup of Christmas trees, which are recycled. For every tree that is recycled, Lac La Biche County plants a new one in a local park.

Lac La Biche County staff recently installed two and three-directional signs on the corner of 101 Street and 102 Avenue.

The effects of screens on children and youth will be the focus of a workshop being held on Jan. 14 in Lac La Biche.

At 10 p.m. on Jan. 7, with little traffic around, Lac La Biche County crews were busy clearing snow from streets in the downtown core of the hamlet of Lac La Biche.

The event is hosted each year by Lac La Biche County Public Libraries.

The Clippers faced off against the Marwayne-Vermilion Tigers at the Bold Centre on Friday, Jan. 3, winning 5-3. The two teams had a rematch on Saturday, Jan. 4, where the Clippers were again victorious, defeating their Northeastern Alberta Hockey League (NEAHL) 6-3.

Philip Byrne of EllisDon, a construction services company that is helping to build the new swimming pool in Lac La Biche, says construction is going good, with the basement walls and slab done.

Andy Cardinal, Rio Ladoucer, and Muhammad Al Hamida, along with Ken Scullion, head coach of the Lac La Biche Boxing Club, and co-coach Jeremy Trimble, were at the Dr. Adams Grand Prix of Boxing event, which took place in Stony Plain on Saturday, Dec. 21.
