BONNYVILLE – At 9:45 this morning, Station 5 Bonnyville responded to a call reporting downed power lines at 56 St. and 54 Ave.
Emergency crews have blocked off 56 St. at 53 Ave. and 54 Ave. Residents are being asked to avoid this area.
An ATCO Power crew is on scene and actively working on the issue.
According to Regional Fire Chief Dan Heney, one pole is leaning over the road while two other lines are down on the road.
“Downed power lines are a true hazard as there is no guarantee the power has been cut until the power utility confirms it,” Heney added.
