LAKELAND - Following Thursday's update of active cases across the province, the Bonnyville region is showing over 100 active cases of COVID-19.
The map, which has turned red for the region, reports 103 active cases in the MD of Bonnyville area, which also includes the Town of Bonnyville. The neighbouring area of Cold Lake is showing 77 active cases of the virus.
The St. Paul region is showing 44 active cases, as of Thursday evening, while the Smoky Lake region is showing 27 active cases.
To the north, the Lac La Biche region is showing nine active cases.
There are now 9,066 active cases of COVID-19 across the province. The positivity rate across Alberta is sitting at 9.35 per cent.
While 77.6 per cent of the eligible population in Alberta has received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 69.2 per cent of eligible Albertans are fully vaccinated, there are no areas in the Lakeland that have met that threshold.
The Cold Lake region is showing 51.6 per cent of those eligible have received a first dose, and in Bonnyville that number is 46.6 per cent.
In the St. Paul area, 43.1 per cent of eligible residents have received their first dose, and in Smoky Lake 55.3 per cent of people have.
In Lac La Biche, the vaccination rate is sitting at 49 per cent.
