ST. PAUL – The case of a St. Paul RCMP officer facing child exploitation charges was elevated from the provincial court to the Court of King's Bench, with his next court date scheduled next week.
Evan Peacock was first charged in April 2024 after an investigation by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit. He was accused of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography. He was released under court conditions and suspended from duty with pay.
In June 2024, the Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District General Investigative Section launched a separate investigation into Peacock for allegedly soliciting sex with underage females online.
He was later charged with child luring and with breaching his release conditions.
On June 17, the Crown filed an indictment, moving the case from the provincial court to the Court of King’s Bench.
Peacock is scheduled to appear in King’s Bench on July 7 in St. Paul for his arraignment.
