BONNYVILLE – As of 4:30 p.m., Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) crews remained on scene at two separate locations battling two separate structure fires that had both started around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Just after 1 p.m., Station 5 Bonnyville responded to a house fire along 52 Ave. between 51 St. and 52 St.
By 1:21 p.m., crews from Station 3 Glendon were called in to assist in extinguishing the structure fire that was billowing thick smoke throughout the area.
“Crews are fighting the fire defensively at this time," states BRFA Regional Fire Chief Dan Heney, in a statement to Lakeland Today earlier this evening.

Firefighters from Station 7 Fort Kent and Station 8 Ardmore were called to attend another structure fire at a chicken and turkey operation near Highway 28 and Range Road 433.
Crews responded to the scene at 1:21 p.m. The fire authority then called in an additional crew from Glendon to assist as well.
The structure that housed the chicken and turkey operation is a complete loss, indicated the fire chief.
Fortunately, no one was injured in either fire, notes Heney.
While emergency crews continue to work at the scenes, residents are asked to avoid both areas and ensure that they are moving aside for emergency vehicles.
With both incidents still under way, the investigations remain pending.
“It would be premature to comment on potential causes at this time,” Heney adds.
