COLD LAKE - A Cold Lake RCMP officer discharged their firearm after a truck rammed their vehicle multiple times and fled the scene.
At approximately 10 a.m. this morning, RCMP in Cold Lake were responding to the report of a stolen vehicle in an alleyway near 47 St.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle, a white Ford F350, rammed the police cruiser multiple times.
The responding officer discharged their service weapon at the truck before it fled.
Additional RCMP and air services were deployed in the area, but the truck and suspect have not been located.
The driver is believed to be a male with a female passenger inside of the vehicle.
According to an RCMP media release, it is unknown whether either of the occupants of the truck suffered any injuries. The officer suffered minor injuries as a result of the ramming and was later released from hospital.
The suspect vehicle was heading northbound on Hwy. 28 and is described as a white four-door Ford F350 with black fender flares, beige tailgate, and dark coloured slip tank in the back.
Cold Lake RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking the public for any information to contact the detachment at 780-594-3302.
