Fire Advisory has been issued for MD of Bonnyville and area

The first Fire Advisory of the season has been announced for the MD of Bonnyville, Bonnyville Beach, Pelican Narrows and the Village of Glendon by the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority. The advisory took effect June 2.

As of June 2, a Fire Advisory for much of the MD of Bonnyville was put in place.

BONNYVILLE – As of June 2, a Fire Advisory has been put in place for the MD of Bonnyville, Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach, Summer Village of Pelican Narrows and Village of Glendon. 

The notice was provided by the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA). 

“Existing fire permits are still allowed, however no new fire permits will be issued for non-essential burning,” states a BRFA media release. 

Burn Barrels with screens, fire pits, fireworks and safe campfires are still permitted at this time.  

Residents are asked to monitor www.albertafirebans.ca daily for any updates or changes.  

“We expect this fire advisory to reduce the number of human-caused wildfires in Alberta, while allowing Albertans to enjoy outdoor activities as much as possible,” continues the BRFA.
