Five active cases of COVID-19 in Saddle Lake are UK variant

Nearly 900 vaccines have been administered in Saddle Lake.

SADDLE LAKE - According to the April 15 Saddle Lake Health Care Centre COVID-19 update, the community now has five active cases - and all are the B.1.1.7. (UK) variant.

The variant was confirmed in the community on April 13, when the first case was noted. 

The community had managed to get to zero active cases, prior to the first variant case. Drive-thru COVID vaccines and testing is available tomorrow (Friday) from 9 a.m. to noon, and 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., in Saddle Lake.

Vaccines are open to all Saddle Lake Cree Nation band and community members 18 years old and over. A total of 891 Moderna vaccines have been administered in Saddle Lake, so far.

Transportation is available to access the vaccine and for testing, if needed.
