Gallery: Dance showcase raises money for Bonnyville SPCA

Bonnyville charity showcase raises a grand for the Bonnyville and District SPCA while having a grand ole time during last Sunday's dance performances.

BONNYVILLE - On March 27, there was an overwhelming turnout at the Fame Dance Studio's charity showcase for the Bonnyville and District SPCA where ticket sales and donations totalled $1,000 for the local charity.

The total raised by the showcase far exceeded what organizers had expected.

"We allowed seniors in for free and still raised that amount of money," expressed Sarah Makins, the owner and director of Bonnyville and Lloydminster's Fame Dance Studio.

The evening was filled with performances ranging from young tots to company dancers and encompassed a wide variety of dance genres from classical ballet to hip hop.

With the success of the charity showcase, Fame Dance Studio's owner and director Makins says there are already plans to organize another the showcase to support the local SPCA, with hopes it will become an annual event.
