Large amount of drugs and money seized from St. Paul residence

Four individuals have been charged following an investigation and search warrant in St. Paul

ST. PAUL - St. Paul RCMP seized a large amount of drugs, along with over $80,000 in Canadian currency following a drug investigation and search warrant on a residence.

On Feb. 4, St. Paul RCMP entered into a drug investigation and executed a search warrant at a residence in the 4400 block on 48th street, within the Town of St. Paul. 

"A significant quantity of drugs and cash were seized along with four people being arrested," according to RCMP.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 18 grams of crystal meth, 56 grams of cocaine, 29 grams of crack/cocaine and $84,180 in Canadian currency.

“This was a considerable seizure of money and drugs for the town of St. Paul. This was an instance of our member’s gathering intelligence, being proactive and attacking crime head on," said Sgt. David Graham of the St. Paul RCMP. "Targeting trouble residences is a priority for the community and goes to ensuring public safety which is the RCMP’s main objective.”

Darcy Norris Cardinal, 46, of Saddle Lake was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Fail to comply with release order (x3)

Wayne Jason Pruden, 42, of St. Paul was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Weapon possession contrary to order

Ignatius William Rumbolt, 69, of St. Paul was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

All three were released on a Release Order after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on March 25.

Jamie Leroy Cardinal, 49, of St. Paul was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)

Cardinal was released on an Undertaking and is also set to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on March 25.
