LICA meeting will offer food, education and voting

LICA, the Lakeland Industry Community Association, will be hosting the organization’s annual general meeting at Lac La Biche’s McArthur Place on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 5:30-8p.m.

LAKELAND - LICA, the Lakeland Industry Community Association, will be hosting the organization’s annual general meeting at Lac La Biche’s McArthur Place on Oct. 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

This annual event has taken place since LICA — a Bonnyville-based organization tasked with environmental stewardship across the Lakeland region — was formed 24 years ago.

The AGM will be held to elect new members to the LICA board and offer anyone interested in the organization an inside look at the activities. This year’s meeting will include a tour and information session about LICA’s portable air monitoring system that is stationed in Lac La Biche, as well as guest speakers and updates on outreach and education.

To make it a social event, organizers are offering a buffet-style dinner to go with the activities.

For this year’s LICA board elections, nominations are underway to fill director positions for Forestry and Trapping, Agriculture, and Community Director. Nominations for the elected community seat may be submitted in advance via email to [email protected]. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the meeting.

Free – but order in advance

Tickets to attend the meeting, air monitoring system tour and supper are free, but they must be ordered in advance. Tickets are available through the Eventbrite.com website by searching for LICA.

The meeting will also be available to watch virtually through a ZOOM link. For more information visit the LICA website.
