Lloydminster man found dead in Kehewin residence

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has laid second degree murder charges against 21-year-old Jermaine Jackson. The charges follow an investigation into the death of a 20-year-old, identified by police as Calub Finlay, who was found deceased on June 2, at a residence in Kehewin Cree Nation.

KEHEWIN – A 21-year-old suspected in the death of a Lloydminster man, identified by police as 20-year-old Calub Finlay, has been remanded into custody. 

On June 2, Bonnyville RCMP received a report at 2:55 p.m. of an “unknown incident” at a residence on Kehewin Cree Nation.  

“Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male,” according to an Alberta RCMP press release. 

Members of the Bonnyville RCMP secured the residence and called in the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit to investigate. 

As a result of the Major Crimes Unit’s investigation, RCMP have charged Jermaine Jackson with second degree murder. 

Jackson was arrested and taken before a Justice of the Peace where he has been remanded in custody with his next court date set for June 9, at St. Paul Provincial Court. 

As the matter is now before the courts, RCMP have indicated that no further information will be provided.
