Summer Days program is online

The Lac La Biche Summer Days celebration takes over the Lac La Biche community from August 4-6.

And we've got lots of extra details in the Summer Days program that's online and on local shelves.

The Lac La Biche Summer Days program can be found at www.lakelandtoday.ca. Click on Features and find the book.

Pancake breakfasts on Friday and Saturday morning kick off the lead-days of the annual fun-times. Want to find out more about the breakfasts ... well, it's in the book.

Friday pancakes and parade

Friday's parade starts at 11am and takes a lakeshore route starting near the Lac La Biche Legion and rolling towards McArthur Place, then up 100 Street to Main Street where it turns left and rolls towards Beaver Hill Road where it finishes. Organizers say there are some great spots to watch the floats along the entire route. Want to know more about the parade?  It's in the book.

The water bombers will be flying over the lakeshore near the Legion following the parade, with a water scooping and dropping demonstration. More information?  You guess it ... in the book.

Event boss interview

The midway has re-located this year due to construction projects on the usual event grounds. This year's Summer Days midway is on a large slice of private property near the Aurora Middle School on 103 Street. Neil Timm, the president of the Lac La Biche Pow Wow Days and Fish Derby Association — the group that has been behind the summer celebration for more than 60 years — explains the move in an interview .... in the book.

Download the program for the weekend's details, the full schedule and some of local advertisers who have helped make the event possible.
