Northern Lights Public Schools officials announced on Sunday that the continuing cold-freeze temperatures across the Lakeland has forced them to cancel classes in all 26 schools for Monday. All NLPS bus routes have also been cancelled to start the week.
"Due to extreme cold, classes at all NLPS schools have been cancelled tomorrow. Buses have also been cancelled," says Sunday's message to parents.
While classes are cancelled, schools will remain open, but regular classes will not be held.
"Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure that all of our students who plan to attend today arrive at school safely," says Sunday's memo.
