Another Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for the Lakeland area of the province, including the Lac La Biche region. The caution was issued by Environment Canada late Tuesday night with temperatures nearing minus 30 Celsius and windchill values between minus 40 and 45.
The extreme cold warning covers a wide patch of the Lakeland from Smoky Lake to Heart Lake and Lac La Biche to Cold Lake.
The outlook for the rest of the week shows improvements in temperature starting Friday with the mercury rebounding to a daytime high of minus 10 and an overnight low of minus 19. The warming trend continues into Saturday with the daytime high and nightime low both at minus 12. Daytime highs are expected to be above zero for Sunday and Monday.
