COLD LAKE – The Cold Lake RCMP are renewing their plea to the public to help locate 22-year-old Jenny Lynn Badger who was reported missing on Sept. 14.

The last confirmed sighting of Badger was in Cold Lake on Aug. 19.

However, RCMP Const. Ryan MacEachern from the Cold Lake detachment told Lakeland Today, tips from the public have placed Badger in Edmonton as well as in the areas of Frog Lake and Cold Lake.

None of the reported sighting could be confirmed by RCMP.

“We are actively looking and trying to get anyone that would know of her location to come forward,” said MacEachern. “She hasn't really been seen currently, but we have heard little tidbits here and there that she might be in our area or she could be in the Frog Lake area. There is still a belief that she might be down in Edmonton, but we haven't gotten anything new to confirm that and some investigations that we've done so far indicate Jenny might be closer to (Cold Lake).”

According to MacEachern, Badger’s family have also been making efforts to locate her with no success.

“They have been reaching out to family and friends that are in the areas that they believe she could be in,” he said, adding that both the family and RCMP have looked into leads provided by the public.

Following tips received so far by RCMP, MacEachern noted that “It's nice to have somebody say, ‘Yes they are at that person's house,’ or ‘I saw them a week ago,’ but we like to actually locate them and see them in person to confirm ourselves as well. As far as the tips that we've gotten, or at least the information we received, it just hasn't panned out that she was at that location or that she was the individual that someone saw.”

MacEachern confirms that Badger is still believed to missing, but may be avoiding detection of the police.

“At this point, there isn't a suspicion that she would be deceased or anything like that, but we're just currently holding it as a missing person (case) and waiting for more information to come forward.”

Although there are active warrants for Badger’s arrest, this is not related to the RCMP’s current search for her.

“At the end of the day, we understand that she also has warrants out for her arrest, but we aren't using a missing person file to try and find her. We're just trying to find her to make sure she’s safe.”

He added, “We're not trying to get someone in trouble for saying where she is or anything. We just want to make sure that Jenny's OK.”

Badger has brown eyes and is described as having coloured “reddish” blonde hair. She is 5 ft 4 in and weighs approximately 130 lbs.
