Recreation study, structure plans focus of special meeting

ELK POINT – Elk Point town council started off the New Year with a Jan. 3 special meeting, where Regional Recreation Consultants Maxwell Harrison and Cassandra Gilmore of Expedition Consulting hosted a workshop with Mayor Parrish Tung and council in closed session to discuss the Regional Recreation Study done in 2018 that identified the potential creation of a multi-use facility in the region in the future.

While details of the workshop have not been released, one resolution was passed after council came out of the closed session.

Mayor Tung moved that the Alberta Collaboration Program grants contingency be pooled together from the Buffalo Trail South and North Intermunicipal Area Structure Plans to undertake the Natural Gas engineered assessment and also the Turbine Analysis on the North Intermunicipal Area Structure Plan.
