Rhinos 2022 volleyball season wrap up at Nationals

After months of weekend tournaments across the province, club volleyball players from the Lakeland have wrapped up their 2022 season following the end of Volleyball Canada's National Championships.

LAKELAND - After months of weekend tournaments across the province, club volleyball players from the Lakeland have wrapped up their 2022 season following the end of Volleyball Canada's National Championships that took place in May.

Out of eight teams eligible to participate in Nationals, seven Rhinos teams made the decision to compete among Canada's top volleyball teams from 14U to 18U.

The Rhinos 14U Black team headed to Richmond, B.C, to take part in the national competition on May 15, and finished 61st overall.

The following week, it was 15U, 16U, 17U and 18U teams' turn to compete at Edmonton's Expo Centre, which hosted Nationals for those age brackets.

The Rhinos 15U Black team finished 36th overall, while the 15U White crew finished 74th in the tournament.

The 16U White team opted out of competing at Nationals, however, the 16U Black ladies decided to head to Edmonton and compete. The Black team finished 57th overall.

The 17U Black team finished in 21st place at the national event and completed the season as the highest ranked Rhinos team within their age bracket.

The Rhinos 18U Black team finished the season sitting in 27th place in Canada overall.

Also participating in Nationals was the 18U White squad who finished the season in 91st  for their age bracket in Canada.
