ST. PAUL - The St. Paul Hospital Foundation is among several hospital foundations in the central and north zone teaming up with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) in support of frontline workers.

St. Paul foundation chair Noreen Brousseau shared the good news Friday afternoon with Lakeland This Week, announcing the local foundation is among those in line to benefit from the EOCF’s Operation Frontline Impact.

“We are so excited to partner with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation. They are supporting our frontline workers again,” Brousseau said.

This is the second time the local foundation has been a part of the Operation Frontline Impact which sees the EOCF provide funds based on its 50/50 game day draws. In May of 2021, the St. Paul Hospital Foundation received $33,000 as its share of the proceeds from two Oilers playoff games.

Those funds have been invested in developing a “quiet room” at the local hospital where frontline staff can “decompress and do whatever they need to do,” Brousseau said. “It’s away from public eye.” Funds received from this year’s promotion will go towards further developing the space, she said.

“COVID-19 isn't quitting, and neither are we. We are proud to announce that Operation Frontline Impact is back. The EOCF online 50/50 has been supported all season by fans across Alberta, and net proceeds for the January 25th - 27th draw will help frontline workers committed to keeping our community safe,” states a media release announcing this year’s program.

The winner of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation RE/MAX online 50/50 draw for Jan. 25 - 27 will take home half of the pot, while the other half of the pot will go to supporting frontline workers. Tickets go on sale Jan. 25 and close Jan. 27 at 11 p.m.

“In these unprecedented times, healthcare frontline workers continue to show their passion for their communities, pushing forward, and often needing additional support to address their own physical and emotional needs. Operation Frontline Impact helps fund and support frontline workers across 39 foundations in Alberta.”
