BONNYVILLE – RCMP have laid several charges against two Bonnyville residents who allegedly attempted to sell property online that had been previously reported stolen.

About a month ago, Bonnyville RCMP responded to a report of a residential break and enter where various items were stolen.

On July 11, the victim of the reported theft identified their missing property posted in an online forum by someone attempting to sell it.

The victim reported it to police.

“Members confirmed who was in possession of the property and obtained a search warrant for their residence,” states an RCMP media release.

During the execution of the search warrant police reportedly found the victim’s property as well as unsafely stored firearms.

Sam Nunweiler, 20, and Jasmine Williams, 18, have been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possessing a firearm knowing possession was unauthorized, and possession of crystal meth.

Nunweiler is further charged with three counts of failing to comply with a release order condition.

The 20-year-old was remanded in custody, while Williams was released without bail.

Both Bonnyville residents are set to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on July 19.
