Town seeks community members and youth for new committee

The Town of Bonnyville is looking for three members of the community and one youth in Grade 11 or 12 to take part in a newly formed Economic Development and Tourism Committee. The deadline to apply is July 29.

BONNYVILLE – The Town of Bonnyville is looking for community members to join its newly formed Economic Development and Tourism Committee. 

The purpose of the committee is to help the Town’s staff and council to enhance and support economic development and tourism within Bonnyville. 

“The committee’s role is to plan and undertake economic development and tourism initiatives, to advise and support Town of Bonnyville council on matters relating to the local economy and the business community, as well as acting as a liaison between council and the business community,” states information released by the Town. 

Getting involved 

Committee roles available to the public include three spots for members of the community at large and one spot for a Grade 11 or 12 student. 

The majority of members must live in the Town of Bonnyville. 

“Those who do not live within the Town of Bonnyville must have a vested interest in the community and economic development and tourism region by means of, but not limited to, land or business ownership or investment,” according to information provided by the Town. 

The deadline to apply for the Economic Development and Tourism Committee is Friday, July 29, at 12 p.m.  

Applicants are asked to send a brief resumé of experience and interests to the Town’s CAO Bill Rogers.
