The County of St. Paul received a special permission from the Alberta government that would allow for cheaper and quicker process of fixing and maintaining boat launches across the County. 

A wildfire that is burning out of control in the Winefred Lake area, northwest of Cold Lake and northeast of Lac La Biche, has resulted in Lac La Biche County declaring a state of local emergency and an evacuation order being put in place, June 4.
