Increased insurance costs a challenge for Mallaig Ag Society
An increase in costs related to running recreational facilities is being felt by the Mallaig Ag Society. The non-profit recently took time to speak with County of St. Paul council, relaying how despite being a very busy organization, paying some bills has been a challenge.

Rainy, wet weather extinguishes Lac La Biche County fire restriction
The restriction came into place on July 31 after the municipality lifted its fire ban. The ending of the fire restriction means that burn permits for the Lac La Biche area will be issued once again and safe outdoor fires for cooking or warmth are permitted.
