The area of the wildfire complex is now estimated to be 36,000 hectares, though officials say mapping the fire has been challenging because of the fire, smoke, strong winds, and relocation of incident management personnel to Hinton.

Rain and milder conditions have helped temper the Jasper National Park wildfires, but officials say fires are still out of control and the rain is expected to let up on Friday.

“We are able to confirm that though the hotel did incur fire damage, most of the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge structures, including the main lodge, remain standing and intact."

The Musée Historique de St. Paul Historical Museum, in conjunction with ACFA Régionale de Saint-Paul is holding a bilingual tour of the Lafond area on July 28. 

Critical infrastructure in Jasper has not been damaged by the ongoing complex fire, and fire crews continue to battle structure fires in the town, Parks Canada says.

The City of Cold Lake deliberated on whether to purchase tickets for the upcoming "Your Region, Your Voice" event hosted by the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce and the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce.  

Weekly day camps for youths ages 5 to 12 hosted by ACFA Régionale de Saint-Paul are now in full swing. The camp is scheduled to run until Aug. 2.
