Anyone looking to engage with the topic of death and dying in an accessible and respectful space can come to the Cold Lake Public Library North Branch on the first Monday of each month for Death Cafe.

The community’s derelict buildings and winter streets laden with ice and snow made it “challenging to show properties” and had an impact on local real estate sales, according to an Elk Point realtor.

Their mission is to grow crops to sell, then donate the money to the Canadian Food Grains Bank, which provides food to millions of people in need, including those affected by drought and famine.

This evening, Thursday, April 20, there will be a temporary closure of emergency department services at the Bonnyville Health Centre due to an unexpected physician shortage.

‘I always tell my team a positive outcome is when we find a person and we bring them home to their family. Whether they come home alive or not, we are happy that they are coming home. We brought closure to the family,’ says Bonnyville Search and Rescue president.

Cold Lake RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating 40-year-old John Blair Cardinal. The missing Frog Lake resident was last seen walking in downtown Cold Lake on April 15.

The MD of Bonnyville’s Public Safety Department presented a Consolidated Public Safety Bylaw that combined several of the municipality’s public safety bylaws while introducing new regulations around changing technologies and the controlled substance cannabis.

Residential school survivors, UnBQ representatives, ground search team members, and others gathered at the former residential school, located just west of St. Paul, on Wednesday to hear the preliminary findings of phase one of a search that took place in August.
