BONNYVILLE – With a reduction in the availability of rental properties and an increasing population, The Town of Bonnyville is offering a Housing Incentive Program with a maximum budget of $500,000.

Wayne Mah, coaching director for Lac La Biche FC, said the organization is in need of more volunteer coaches.

Britney Supernault, who goes by the penname Cree Nomad, will be talking about their debut novel, 'Hey, June', during an author visit to the Stuart MacPherson Library in Lac La Biche on Feb. 18 from 1-3 p.m.

Lenora Lemay, board chair of the Lakeland Out of the Elements Shelter Society, said the transitional housing facility, which opened its doors last January, has seen an increase in individuals accessing services at the shelter.

The City of Cold Lake has dismantled an illegal encampment, which resulted in multiple fines and one arrest being made, along with over 2,000 kilograms of waste being removed from the site. 

BONNYVILLE – The Aurora Visual Arts Association (AVAA) hosted a Juried Art show to showcase local artists and received such a positive response that the AVAA plans to make the event an annual occurrence.

At the Feb. 25 regular council meeting, the City of Cold Lake once again discussed a request from Cold Shot Bus Service for municipal funding to sustain its rural transportation services in northern Alberta.  

The colourful quilts will be given to young children living in Beaver Lake Cree Nation.

The process for determining where to install street lights in the County of Lac La Biche is being revamped after two motions were approved by council on Feb. 25. Ward 7 Coun.

The anticipation is building as Skijoring for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) returns for its fourth year on March 8 at the Cold Lake Exhibition Park.
