The Bonnyville and District SPCA has commemorated the community support provided by the late philanthropist Victor Ringuette with the naming of a new space at the local shelter used to house stray cats being brought into the facility.

After concerns were voiced by a councillor, a decision as to whether an MD of Bonnyville policy - Financial Assistance for Victims of Fire - should be discontinued in 2023 was table until the first council meeting of the new year.

The Lac La Biche Provincial Building has been going through an $8.5 million renovation project to improve efficiencies. The renovations on the over 40-year-old structure is expected to be completed this March.

Arianna Heaven Faithful from Frog Lake will represent Canada at the Miss Teen Universe 2023 Pageant in April in Madrid, Spain, and Miss Teen International 2023 Pageant in Delhi, India. Jorja Hunter from Saddle Lake will also compete in international pageants with charity components in Bangladesh and El Salvador in 2023. 

The Festival of Trees event brought thousands of people to the Bold Center during the hallmark four-day Christmas-themed experience in late November.
