A provincial program aiming to support municipalities with 100 per cent of the cost for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations won't include Lac La Biche County, a decision that disappoints one local EV owner.

The annual Road To Hope charity golf fundraiser took over the Athabasca Golf Club on Thursday.

The Capella Centre team won this year's rodeo week chili cook-off held at the Cornerstone Co-op in St. Paul on Sept. 1. The afternoon also included a car show and the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser.

Tory Lawrence Daniel McGilvery-Halfe has not been seen since Sept. 4. He was last seen in Saddle Lake, according to RCMP.

In a few hours, the former South View Motel situated on Bonnyville's Main Street was reduced to rubble.

Khurram Abbasi aims to build a mutually beneficial connection between the youth and seniors in St. Paul and area through science and technology. “We connect the seniors, we bring them technology, and we create a support system that is backed up by our youth to provide that support to seniors,” he explained. “Now, it's like a technical support company – but this is non-profit work.” 

The Town of St. Paul is busy wrapping up projects before winter arrives, such as the Lagasse Park playground replacement, which will feature a 12-foot slide and a 75-foot zip-line for youth, within the playground area.

According to the provincial government, the new online registry allows Albertans to find information about teachers and will increase public confidence in the teaching profession. The Alberta Teachers' Association has raised concerns about the registry.

Community Awareness Night is scheduled for Sept. 14 at the St. Paul Recreation Centre between 5-8 p.m. The event offers residents the chance to learn about a variety of groups and activities available locally.

The Alberta College Athletics Conference (ACAC) regular soccer season is kicking off this month. For the Portage College Voyageurs men’s and women’s teams competing in the north division, there is much to look forward to.
