Sitting tied atop the division heading into last week's play, the Bonnyville Pontiacs had three tough games ahead of them.

The St. Paul Lions handed the team’s first play-off opponent, the Wainwright Commandos, a sound defeat by a score of 29 – 19 last Friday afternoon at home.

The seventh place Saddle Lake Warriors lost to the fourth place Lloydminster Bandits on Sunday at home, by a score of 2 – 8.

Technically, the Pontiacs' week was down and up, and then back down again, based on their results. Last Tuesday the Pontiacs came back from two 2-goal deficits, only to lose to the St. Albert Steel in a shootout 5-4.

The Holy Rosary Raiders won last Friday afternoon’s game against the St. Paul Lions in Lloydminster with a score of 51 – 7. The only touchdown for the Lions came from Dale Krankowsky during the first quarter.

The Canadiens lost 8 – 1 in its first meeting against the Cold Lake Ice during the regular season last Sunday afternoon, following a 7-1 loss to the Vegreville Rangers in an away game on Friday night.
