Coming into the weekend, the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs had lost four straight games and allowed the visiting Grande Prairie Storm to catch them in the standings.

Last Thursday evening, loud, catchy music and the familiar sounds of physical exercise could be heard at St. Paul’s Silhouette Dance School. In the school’s studio space, ballet and jazz teacher Raven White leads a group of participants in exercises.

The Edmonton Chimos made a stop in Bonnyville to play their regular season match up against the Strathmore Rockies Sunday. The Chimos won the game 3-1 and local hockey product Jennifer Moe was named the Chimos player of the game.

The St. Paul Canadiens Junior B hockey team lost the team’s lone weekend game to the visiting Vegreville Rangers last Sunday by 10 - 0.

The Winter Festival of Speed has cancelled due to poor ice conditions on Lac La Biche, and the entire ice race car season has been put on hold by the governing body.

The Saddle Lake Warriors Junior B hockey team lost a close overtime game against the Vegreville Rangers last Friday night at Saddle Lake’s Manitou Kihew arena.

It was back-to-back wins for the Portage College Voyageurs hockey team this past weekend against the Augus­tana Vikings, with a 4-3 win tem Friday night in Camrose and a 6-5 overtime win Saturday night at the Bold Center.

The Mallaig Minor Hockey Association hosted the 790 CFCW Critters’ hockey team for a fun night of hockey on Thursday evening to raise funds for the association.
