Minor hockey is back after new year break. More action on January 14 weekend in local rinks

The first game of the new year that saw three Pontiacs players and the head coach receive multiple game suspensions has had serious ripple effects for the Jr. A team. Having come up short against Brooks on Saturday night, the coming week will not offer any respite for the Bonnyville team as they take on the second ranked team, the Spruce Grove Saints, and the Sherwood Park Crusaders. 

The St. Paul Canadiens Jr. B team won 8-0 on Jan. 6 after taking on the Vegreville Ranger.

JAWS and Royals to rematch in the new year

The St. Paul Canadiens remain at the top of the NEAJBHL, with the Vermilion Tigers and Wainwright Bisons working hard to catch up.

The Clash of the Saints brought former basketball athletes back to the gym at St. Paul Regional High School.

On Dec. 16, the Senior Pontiacs’ 70th anniversary game marked decades worth of milestones achieved by generations of Bonnyville hockey players – including a 6-2 Pontiac victory over the Devon Oil Barons earned that evening.
