Lakeland club volleyball players wrap up the first round of their Premier tournaments. As they head into Premier II competitions, all nine Rhino’s teams placed in the top four Divisions in the Volleyball Alberta league.

Despite having a fairly young team, the St. Paul U18 Canadiens have worked hard to have a successful season on the ice, winning the NEAHL Tier II banner.

'There wasn't really anything being offered in our local area for that age group, and we want to give our kids everything we can. But at the same time, we want to make sure that they're earning it and that they are putting the work in,' says Lakeland Lightnings Head Coach Joel Miller.

Although the Canadiens lost to the Bisons for the NEAJBHL title, they will get a chance at redemption at the upcoming Jr. B provincial tournament, set for March 31 to April 3 in Wainwright.

The Elk Point 13 Avalanche are off to provincials in a couple weeks, afternoon winning the NEAHL Tier 3 championship.

Two Hills School teams earned the silver medals at this year's SPAA tournament, while the Glen Avon School teams won both the boys' and girls' banners.
