Not long after the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs wrapped up their playoff run, the organization honoured players and the volunteers who helped the team achieve success on and off the ice at the team’s annual awards banquet.

Two Hills School teams earned the silver medals at this year's SPAA tournament, while the Glen Avon School teams won both the boys' and girls' banners.

Although the end of the season has arrived for the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs, many of the team's players have seen success both on and off the ice. Before the season ended three players were nominated for AHJL awards, one player was awarded an academic scholarship, while three others committed to post-secondary NCAA schools.

The promise of high-speed sleds drew spectators and racers from across the province and beyond to the Hamlet of Ardmore, last weekend.

On Saturday evening at the R.J. Lalonde Arena, the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs played and lost their second playoff game against the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The Canadiens will take on the Wainwright Bisons in the NEAJBHL league finals.
