To the Editor: As some of you probably know, there was recently a hockey tournament held in St. Paul, with visitors from all over.

Come take a ride on the omnibus. Where is it going, you ask? First, you'd have to agree to come along and then maybe we'll tell you. Who else is coming? Good question, get on the omnibus and perhaps you'll see.

News of a Jan. 3 grow-op bust in St. Paul, involving the seizure of about 1,800 marijuana plants, kick-started a discussion on whether such seizures made streets safer, and whether it was time to relax laws on marijuana use and possession.

It’s probably a safe bet that nearly everyone who has a New Year’s resolution at this time of year can somehow relate it to their weight or health, and I often feel at this time of year, the number of articles and advertisements preaching quick fixes

Keep your eyes peeled for any signs of hockey. Oh wait, there it is, right there where we left it. Sure, we had to wait a couple weeks. That hockey-free holiday break can get a little long for even the most minor of hockey fans.

As everything else seemed to slow to a halt over the Christmas season, the burgeoning Idle No More movement continued to grow in what has surely been one of the biggest news stories of the past month.

To the Editor: The very tragic events which recently struck our community revealed the caring and compassion of citizens of all ages, religious affiliations, cultural backgrounds and socio-economic status.

This past week has been crazy, with short deadlines at work due to the Christmas holidays, Christmas concerts one after the other. Now with the impending apocalypse scheduled to occur today, I think I might be played out.
