Dear Editor: I am annoyed, aggravated, and appalled at Alberta members of the legislature sitting in opposition. They were elected by Albertans to help our province grow and prosper.

You'd be hard pressed to find a sport as team oriented as football is.

Flowers, tulle and Mason jar candles never had so much meaning – until last Tuesday.

Don Good makes a good analogy when he compares urban and rural municipalities to children squabbling over a haul of goodies and presents.

Radio fans were in for a treat this Saturday as they met Bob Layton, who was in town to help locals recognize the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.

Every person is capable of making a difference in someone else’s life. Some people are lucky enough to do it on a daily basis through their work, with doctors, teachers, or firefighters being a few professionals that come to mind.

In the spirit of the holiday season, which is nearly upon us, it is time to discuss an important idea that could have huge ramifications for the Town of Bonnyville and surrounding communities, summer villages, towns and cities: co-operation.

I've tackled a lot of tough topics in this column, from car troubles to my high school reunion and just about every awkward, unfortunate misadventure in between. None of those topics, however, were as difficult to broach as this one.

The golden shovels have hit the ground and construction on the Bonnylodge expansion project is underway at last. Congratulations to the Bonnyville seniors and everyone who helped make this much-needed project a reality.

My generation gets a lot of grief these days. We are self-entitled. We are lazy. We live in our parents' basement far longer than our parents ever lived in theirs. We want everything but don't want to give back.
