Kudos to the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) for taking a unique step in trying to resolve the acrimony and dissent that has divided local firefighters.

In recognition of Family Literacy Day, the St. Paul Municipal Library held a literacy event on Feb. 5 for adults and children to take part in fun literacy-themed activities.

This Christmas, like any other, was the same - after the ritual opening of gifts in the morning, I could barely move for all the plastic and paper littering the living room.

It was a close race, but after weeks of voting, Graham Campbell has been named the Bonnyville Nouvelle's 2010 Future Star of the Year and has won $1,000 for training and equipment.

Last week Mel Knight, minister of sustainable resource development, announced 10 amendments the government plans to make to the Land Stewardship Act (former Bill 36).

To the Editor: I agree with the view expressed in the Feb. 1 article, Medical centre funding still up in the air, that public dialogue on this issue is required.

People who want to recycle are upset over sorting and hauling their recyclables to the Town of St. Paul transfer station, only to be told that glass, tin and plastic are now trash and will be sent to the landfill.

It has been a long road, but there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel. The Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) board has stepped in to clean up a messy situation at the Bonnyville Fire Department.

Personally, I think being a politician has to be one of the most challenging jobs around.
