Is it just me or does the Christmas season seem to starting earlier and earlier every year? It is the middle of November and many people around town have already had their Christmas lights up for weeks, Santa Claus has already made an appearance in many towns and cities across the country and stores are already starting to play Christmas music!

Twinkling lights and pretty bows are appearing everywhere lately, as the community enters into another colourful, festive, holiday season.

It starts at the CAP Arena. I’m standing there, up against the glass, watching the St. Paul Canadiens Peewee hockey team play their first game of a home tournament.

As I drove past a local business the other day, the twinkling lights and festive Christmas trees on display caught my attention. Not a snowflake was in sight outside, although the weather was a bit frightful.

It happens. Despite being prepared, safe and vigilant, oil spills can happen. But, the spill that occurred in St. Paul last week was maybe a little more odd and in the end, unnerving than other small spills that occur in the industry.
