A thank you to the RCMP

A thank you to the RCMP

Kudos to the local RCMP. While it happened over a week ago, I think the Jan. 4 incident on Main Street Bonnyville deserves to be revisited. It was in the early afternoon hours of Jan. 4 when local police were called to a residence on 51a Street. They had received a call from an individual who was concerned for her own safety. According to the caller her boyfriend had consumed high quantities of drugs and alcohol over the past few days and had a history of problems regarding his mental stability.

A week of good news reporting

A week of good news reporting

This job isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it seems we reporters can do no right. I immediately assume any call that comes in must be a complaint, for rare is the time that someone calls to say thanks or good job.
Nine MLA's betray constituents

Nine MLA's betray constituents

What the heck is going on in the Alberta Legislature? Like many other in the province, I was completely taken aback when Danielle Smith and eight other Wildrose MLA's defected and joined the Conservative Party last week. Now while many out there are sorting through the rubble trying to figure out why it happened and what the repercussions will be, I find myself asking a different question: How could they do this?
