Christmas Tree Lighting lights up the night

To mark the beginning of the holiday season on Dec. 1, the St. Paul Regional Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) hosted its annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

ST. PAUL – To mark the beginning of the holiday season, the St. Paul Regional Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) hosted its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 1. This year, the event took on a more interactive and engaging format, with snacks and hot drinks just outside the St. Paul Museum.

Glowing inflatables were also set up between paths leading to the Destrube House, with a human-sized nutcracker guarding its door.

FCSS Director Lynn Smid said the change gave more opportunities for attendees to linger, walk around, socialize, and check out the museum.

Families and community members gathered freely, parking around the museum and the Recreation Centre before strolling down to the UFO Landing Pad to check out the recently lit-up Christmas tree.
