ST. PAUL – County of St. Paul council has approved several requests of funding from the St. Paul and District Chamber of Commerce, the Elk Point Chamber of Commerce, and the Mallaig Chamber of Commerce.
The St. Paul Chamber of Commerce requested $10,000 to help the organization continue to host events and “several other functions to bring the community together, encourage newcomers, and showcase our community,” according to a St. Paul Chamber of Commerce letter sent to the County.
Chamber Executive Director Yvonne Weinmeier provided examples in the letter that the organization has achieved in the community in the last few years, including educational sessions for businesses, business support network meetings, and other resources to help support businesses and non-profits in the region.
“In 2024, the Chamber wishes to continue and grow with the momentum that we have generated in the past year,” wrote Weinmeier
The Elk Point Chamber of Commerce also sought continued support through an annual contribution of $5,000 from the County, highlighting their achievements in a letter. The Elk Point Chamber offers similar opportunities, along with providing a local scholarship, networking efforts, and tourism and business promotions.
