Rollie Cartier and Kerri Dechaine of Coldwell Banker Cartier Realty have been working together as a team for three years, and it’s a strategy that seems to be succeeding for the two real estate agents.
Last year, the pair was recognized within the top 10 of Coldwell Banker Canada’s sales teams, in the category of one to three sales representatives, for closing the most units in 2014. For 2015, the pair improved on that achievement, advancing from the eighth position to be hailed as the second best sales team in the country, at the April 14 Red Deer National Awards.
“We’re kind of shocked to be number two,&” said Cartier, noting that he and Dechaine were up against teams from larger urban markets like Toronto and Vancouver.
The same sentiment was echoed by Dechaine, who adds, “I thought it was impressive, but shocking.&”
Cartier said he had worked on his own in real estate for a number of years, but it got to the point where he needed help, which is how Dechaine ended up joining him a few years ago to help both of their customers.
Even with the downturn in the oil sector, real estate in St. Paul has weathered the storm, said Cartier, adding St. Paul real estate was down only about six sales in 2016 compared to the year before; however, while looking at a three year average, St. Paul real estate was right on par for number of sales.
“St. Paul’s always held its own,&” he said, adding when he worked on his own, he had the support of people in St. Paul, who were kind to him.
“Now they’re being kind to us as a team.&”
