On Aug. 7, 2018 a joint effort was conducted between the EADRCRU and the St. Paul RCMP Detachment to apprehend an elusive male wanted on several outstanding warrants who previously fled from police in a vehicle and placed the public at risk.
Acting on intelligence gathered, police located the male at a residence in St. Paul and arrested him for his outstanding warrants which encompassed nearly 40 charges from Edmonton and St. Paul. The male was found to be in possession of a weapon which was contrary to an order placed upon him by the court.
Nathan Roscovich (30) of St. Paul was also charged with new Criminal Code offences, which included the following:
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
· Flight from police
· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
· Robbery with violence
· Identity theft
· Possession of a forged document
· Theft under $5,000
· Obstructing a peace officer
He was remanded into custody and be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on Sept. 8.

The RCMP's Crime Reduction Strategy is seeing positive results, according to a recent press release from the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU).
From 2012 to 2017, Alberta rural detachments saw a 16 per cent increase in criminal code offences, largely driven by property crimes. From January to April this year, property crime in rural detachments are down almost 10 per cent compared to the same period last year.
