11-year-old Bonnyville resident officially holds world record

BONNYVILLE - It's official. Eleven-year-old Leland Warburton now holds a world record holder for the fastest time solving a Rubik's Cube while operating a hover board.

His mom, Lianne, confirmed recently that her son was notified via email and will soon be getting a certificate confirming he is a Guinness world record holder.

On a Sunday afternoon in late July, and in front of a number of community members and helpers, Leland broke the previous 30-second record, solving the Rubik's Cube in just 19.79 seconds.

A quick search on the official Guinness World Records website proves the feat to be true.

Lianne says it was "somewhat of a relief" to get the notification so quickly. The Warburtons received the confirmation on Aug. 10.
