A lapsed lease agreement with the provincial government has lead to the removal of a wooden gazebo on Bonnyville's Main Street. However, as to whether a new gazebo will be erected in the near future, the Town's CAO says 'I certainly would not rule out future gazebos as an idea.'

Last week, three MD of Bonnyville hamlets glowed a little brighter as the sun went down and triggering the lighting of new Christmas themed festoon lights in Ardmore, Fort Kent - and for the first time in Cherry Grove.

In front of an audience of parents and grandparents, Kindergarten classes from École Notre Dame Elementary School performed holiday carols on Dec. 8.

Some notable changes have taken effect when it comes to waste management in the MD of Bonnyville. The municipality is not only seeing higher traffic at most of its landfills but has also formed an agreement with the City of Cold Lake, allowing MD residents to drop off household waste at no cost, once registered.

The fifth annual Pack the Police Car event has been set and community members are being encouraged to donate non-perishable food items on Dec. 16.

Volunteers with the United Church Women baked and plated over 4,000 cookies to sell at St. John’s United Church’s annual Cookie Walk bake sale. All 170 plates of assorted cookies were sold before the end of the day on Dec. 3.

Discussions remain ongoing regarding ways to create a healthier lake.

On Thursday evening, 20 Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medals were presented to residents across the Lakeland during an intimate awards presentation held in Bonnyville.

Bonnyville Centralized High School was transformed into a cozy Coffee House and Fair Trade market on Nov. 23. Money raised during the evening event will be sent to Uganda through the organization H.E.A.L International.

The MD of Bonnyville's multi-million dollar 2023 operating budget and capital plan was approved on Nov. 23, but how capital funding was allocated for the upcoming year did not sit well with all council members.
