Receiving the 2020-21 Family Farm Award, the Antoniuk Farms, located in the Dupre area of the MD of Bonnyville, was recognized as a family that embodies strong values through their farming business practices and community involvement.

Over the last week, Bonnyville RCMP responded to reports of vandalism and theft at an oilfield site in La Corey. Police also attended an alleged assault with a hammer that involved a Bonnyville man who had been arrested last week in relation to an assault with bear spray.

Bonnyville RCMP have obtained arrest warrants for Laine Solway-Martial and Joshua Lawrence Desjarlais in connection to an attempted carjacking with firearms that took place in Kehewin Cree Nation on Jan. 26.

A Bonnyville Regional Aquatics Centre Visioning and Feasibility Study provided two potential options to incorporate an aquatic centre into the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre. Based on budgets from 2019, the cost of constructing an aquatic facility could range from $20.1 million to $21.9 million.

RCMP laid charges against an 18-year-old from Bonnyville for allegedly discharging a fire extinguisher in the halls of an apartment complex while intoxicated, resulting in an evacuation of the building.

As the Bonnyville Pontiacs prepare for the upcoming playoffs, several new players have joined the Pontiacs’ bench, and veteran players return to the ice after recovering from injuries earlier in the season.

In the last week, Bonnyville RCMP have laid charges regarding an assault involving bear spray and have put out a warrant for a 17-year-old suspected of stealing a substantial amount of alcohol from a local liquor store.

A delegation from Algae Control Canada asked for a letter of support from the MD of Bonnyville's council to carry out an Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) targeted treatment – a Canadian first - to manage the chronic toxic blue-green algae blooms on Moose Lake.

The MD of Bonnyville’s council is moving toward an honorarium “salary” pay structure for elected officials, which would replace the current base-pay plus meeting-pay model where council members track service to the municipality.
