The Hive cracked open its doors on Thursday to allow the numerous sponsors and community members to check out the Bonnyville facility that offers an assortment of activities and services for all Lakeland youth between 14 and 21.

A MD councillor says a resolution passed during a UCP convention earlier this month, which would require municipal representatives and elected officials to sign-up as a lobbyist on a provincial registry, has raised concern and cost him sleep.

Sidewalks were jam packed in the Town of Bonnyville Monday night as trick-or-treaters flooded the streets to collect Halloween candies.

It’s no trick, but trick-or-treaters and residents in the Bonnyville area should be aware that the Bonnyville Healthcare Centre will be temporarily closing its emergency department from Oct. 31 until Nov. 1. Other service areas remain open at the hospital.

About five months after the local non-profit was named the recipient of a provincial Friends of Education Award, members of Action for Healthy Communities accepted the award in person at a Lakeland Catholic meeting on Oct. 19.

A 30-year-old man from Bonnyville has been issued a Provincial Sanction after allegedly failing a mandatory alcohol screening. RCMP discovered the man had outstanding warrants and was a suspended driver.
