The City of Cold Lake hosted the Freedom of the City parade in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) on Thursday.

On May 22, 4 Wing CFB Cold Lake opened its doors to the public to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).

COLD LAKE - The City of Cold Lake approved a $10,000 sponsorship for the Cold Lake First Nations (CLFN) Treaty 1-11 Gathering, titled “Carrying the Fire Forward.” The event is set to take place from August 26-30 at the English Bay Treaty Grounds. 

COLD LAKE - The City of Cold Lake council has expressed concerns about Bill 20, the Municipal Affairs Statutes Amendment Act, 2024.

According to the City of Cold Lake, council has allocated a total of $100,000 to the program, which is enough to support the development or legalization of 20 secondary suites over the next year. 

Edison Wang, a Grade 11 student at Assumption Jr/Sr High School in Cold Lake, is one of 70 students in Canada selected to attend the 2024 Lloyd Auckland Invitational Workshop at the University of Waterloo. 

Cold Lake is gearing up for a series of events to celebrate the Royal Canadian Air Force's (RCAF)100th anniversary centennial featuring an open house, a traditional parade, and a fun run. 

The City of Cold Lake announced on Thursday morning it would be moving the reception centre for Fort McMurray evacuees to the Cold Lake and District FCSS (5220 54 Street).

Cold Lake is stepping up to support evacuees from Fort McMurray, providing shelter and resources as they seek refuge from a wildfire that was nearing northern Alberta city. 

The City of Cold Lake is inviting residents to participate in the annual Community Clean Up event, taking place from May 17-25, in recognition of National Public Works Week.
