Over the Family Day weekend the Lakeland region was swept up by the Snow Fever event in Cold Lake. The three-day event brought people to Cold Lake from across the Lakeland.

The Alberta School Board Association (ASBA) is pushing for a thorough evaluation of the provincial high school diploma examinations, and school representatives in the province are also raising concerns about the exams' quality, noting that they haven't undergone a review since 2009. School divisions in the Lakeland region agree that a review is needed.

On a brisk Wednesday afternoon, Habitat for Humanity Edmonton and its supporters kicked off the newest housing project in the City of Cold Lake, right on the very lot where the project will come to life.

The City of Cold Lake council addressed a proposal to close the Gateway RV Park, located at the Information Centre, permanently.

A lively discussion took place in City of Cold Lake council chambers regarding the city's skunk removal services. 

In response to escalating security concerns at the Cold Lake Energy Centre, City council is actively considering plans to compartmentalize spaces within the facility.

The Alberta Government has announced the redesignation of Muriel Lake Provincial Recreation Area (PRA). This decision signifies the end of its management under the Provincial Parks Act, with the site now set to be governed under the Public Lands Act.
