ELK POINT – Twenty-one skaters from tots to teens who have been sharpening their skills under the guidance of Candace Braun this winter showed off all they had learned at Wednesday’s Elk Point Skating Club Showcase.
Solos by the most experienced skaters and group numbers by both those skaters and the newest members of the club drew thunders of applause from an impressive crowd who cheered them on as they skated to the music of ‘The Greatest Showman’, ‘Tangled’, ‘Up’, ‘Lilo and Stitch’, ‘Frozen’, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, ‘The Lion King’ and ‘I’ve Got a Feeling’.
Toni May emceed the show, which was opened by O Canada sung by Sherry Oszust.
This year’s show was also a fundraiser for Elk Point Helping Hands, with attendees adding non-perishable food and toiletries to a heaping table of donations in lieu of admission fees.
