Despite hearing concerns from constituents in the Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul area, MLA Scott Cyr says the $5.2 billion deficit planned by the province is the responsible thing to do in these turbulent times.

COLD LAKE - The Strathcona Performing Arts Centre project in Bonnyville is nearing completion, with Clayton Bellamy, founder of the Clayton Bellamy Foundation for the Arts, providing an update to City of Cold Lake council at the Feb. 25 regular meeting. 

City of Cold Lake Coun. Bob Mattice has filed his nomination papers to run for mayor in the upcoming 2025 municipal election.  

Community groups applying for funds from the City of Cold Lake’s Community Recreation, Art, Culture and Heritage Investment (CRACH) Grant Program will have requests reviewed more often, following a policy change by council. 

In addition to the events on Lac La Biche Lake, the 2025 Lac La Biche Ice Festival also included a kids carnival which was held at McArthur Place.

The team, which started last year as a pilot program with the Jr. A Bonnyville Pontiacs, finished the regular season in sixth place in the 11-team AAA division.

For the past six years, the Lac La Biche Trappers Local 1120 has been putting on the trapper's display as part of the events for the Winter Festival of Speed, recently renamed the Lac La Biche Ice Festival.
